Bravo! The Vail Music Festival (Bravo! Vail) announces its first-ever Music Education Month, offering free concerts and co-learning opportunities in October.

In celebration of Bravo! Music Education Month events, Vale’s year-round commitment to music education for adults and adolescents in the community, include a special performance by Artistic Director Anne-Marie McDermott. Interdisciplinary art workshops and lectures. A collaboration with the Walking Mountains Science Center Avon Campus, Alpine Arts Center and Bookworms of Edwards. “This month-long celebration does more than just showcase Bravo. Vail’s extensive music education program is offered throughout the year, but we are also excited to include new musical experiences in the Valley, including interdisciplinary arts events. We are expanding these offerings to ‘Bravo! Vail Music Festival. “We are excited to offer even more ways for members of our community to connect through music.”



Bravo! Vail Music Education Month events include:

• Community Concert by Anne-Marie McDermott: October 1, 1:00 PM (Edwards Interfaith Chapel) – Bravo! Vale’s Artistic Director Anne-Marie McDermott kicks off Music Education Month with her performance at Edwards Interface Special Community Her Chapel. A pre-concert meet and greet with McDermott will take place at 12:30 PM. Tickets are free, but reservations are required through BravoVail.org..



Music Makers “Haciendo Música” Chamber Music Saturday: October 1, 8, 15, 22 9am-12pm (Edwards Interfaith Chapel) – Bravo Saturday for Chamber Music! Vail’s Music Makers “Haciendo Música” students will have the opportunity to develop their performance skills with their peers outside the traditional classroom. Bravo! Vail’s flagship music education program, Music Makers “Haciendo Música,” provides low-cost, after-school violin and piano tuition to approximately 300 students each year in Eagle and Lake County school districts. • Mexican Ofrenda (Altar) & Music: October 18 4:00 pm (Alpine Arts Center) –Ofrendas, or altars, are an integral part of Mexican Day of the Dead celebrations. This family-friendly workshop offers participants the opportunity to create their own ofrenda while learning about Mexican art, music, history, and culture from Bravo. Bale scholar. • Cocktails & Canvas with French Music: October 21, 5:30 pm (Alpine Arts Center) – This adult-oriented event provides participants with art supplies and inspiration to create Impressionist-style paintings while enjoying cocktails and discussions from Bravo! Vale on French art, music, history and culture Scholar. Admission is free, but reservations are required through AlpineArtsCenter.org.Cocktails are available for purchase.



• The Art of Letter Writing: October 27th at 6pm (The Bookworm of Edwards) – This unique presentation by Bravo! Bale scholars explore the relationship between letter writing and music. Participants leave with a packet of complimentary notecards and begin their own writing journey inspired by the music they hear. Admission is free, but reservations are required at Bookworm (970.926.7323). Then reception.

• Music Makers “Haciendo Música” Fright at the Museum: October 29 and 30, 10am-12pm (Walking Mountain Science Center, Avon Campus) – Bravo!Vail Music Makers Haciend Musica Students and staff host spooky concerts, spooky woodland walks, and a spooky sounding instrument petting zoo, just in time for Halloween. Attendees can connect the eerie sounds of nature with the sounds of musical instruments at these family-friendly, interactive events.
