The Adult Hospital is being developed through a partnership between UT Southwestern Medical Center and the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC). The pediatrics unit, currently in the planning stages of design and construction, will add to the 200 adult beds at the new state hospital, which is scheduled to open in the fall of 2025, and the pediatrics addition is scheduled to open in his early 2026.
