It may look like a garbage bag, but this wallet from Balenciaga is made from calfskin leather (hence the hefty price tag). Available in black, blue, yellow and white options, the design was first unveiled on Demna’s post-apocalyptic Fall/Winter 2022 runway and features subtle logo branding on the front. It’s no surprise that brands like Balenciaga release garbage bag-like designs for around $2,000 USD. The pink tote bag he was worth US$1,490 in 2019. This dove-shaped clutch first debuted on JW Anderson’s FW22 runway, alongside other surreal designs like a dress with a wired hem and a cropped top with elastic wristbands tied together. The 3D-printed bag has an opening on the side under the pigeon’s wing and contains his JW Anderson branding on the inside. This wallet is clearly not made to carry essentials, but it’s definitely a statement piece to get your picture taken at fashion week.

As described in the product description, the paint can is “large enough to hold two cell phones and other personal items.” Definitely more practical than the Pigeon Clutch, this bag adds a playful touch to any outfit.

Copenhagen-based Solitude Studios uses local materials to create knitwear, handbags and more. His Essence Oilskin Bag and Seaweed Bag, made to order for the label, use leftover yarn purchased from textile production companies.
